A deep and complex red wine, with the nobility provided by iconic Bordeaux varieties and a measured, precise aging process. Optimal sunshine for vineyards that mature slowly results in a wine rounded by the nobility of the finest barrels. A complex and firm wine with great depth and notes that blend spices with ripe fruit.
Type of wine: Full-bodied red with oak aging.
Varieties: Tempranillo, Syrah, Garnacha, and Merlot.
Aging: 12 months in French (60%) and American (40%) oak barrels of first and second use, and 225 L. Bottle aging for 6 months before release.
Elaboration: No sulfites during vinification and up to malolactic fermentation. Alcoholic fermentation between 22 and 26 ºC. Periodic pump-overs. Maceration for about 6 days. Vinification in a 10,000 L tank.
Denomination of origin: Costers del Segre.
Agriculture: Produced in conversion to organic farming.
Alcohol: 14.5% vol.
Tasting note: Picota color with vibrant reflections and high layer. Aromas of aging, cedar, and balsamic. When aired, it reveals notes of candied black fruits with a mineral hint. The tannic entry with sweet nuances gives way to acidity that extends on the palate, providing a finish of dried fruit.
